2 x Lambing & Calving Students
Balcaskie Estate has an opportunity for two students to gain further experience with both sheep and cattle over the Easter period. The role will be practical and will require a hands on attitude. Accommodation will be provided and the farm is well equipped with excellent facilities. You will be working as part of the farm team and main responsibilities will include;
Assisting with lambing, post lambing care of ewes and lambs, feeding/watering, bedding, hygiene checking stock and moving to pasture.
Assisting with calving, tagging, feeding, moving to pasture, bedding, hygiene and checking on cattle pre and post calving.
Balcaskie Estate farms 350 suckler cows and 600 ewes organically in the East Neuk of Fife, approximately 15 minutes from St Andrews. Due to the location, a car would be advisable.
Good rates of pay depending on experience.
